PeterJ and Knox, thank you for your comments! The purpose of this site is to encourage people to educate themselves on the issues we face. An educated populace is more likely to be involved in our government and its dealings. While it is true that some of the work on Airbus' tanker would be performed in the U.S., the majority of work would primarily be done in Europe. There's a vast difference between importing materials and actual assembly, which, in the case of Boeing, would take place in both the Seattle and Wichita plants. The "outsourcing" you refer to was to go to Spirit Aerosystems, which is a number of assembly facilities previously owned by Boeing which was sold off to a Canadian consortium (which has no manufacturing facilities, but is only an investment firm).

And Knox, as I stated in your comment, the posting of the story as Admin was merely an oversight on my part.

Please understand that I do NOT feel that in any way I have The Answers. Anyone who says they ultimately know The Answers or The Truth is fooling themselves. I do, however, make a sincere effort to back my stories with facts and documentation.

Thank you again ofr taking the time to comment. It is greatly appreciated!

Why is your author listed as ADMIN? It seams that the article was well sourced but the fact that you hide your name discredits your argument. Surely you can't be that scared to stand up for what you believe is right, Right?

AUTHOR'S NOTE: An oversight on my part... I apologize for missing that =)

This article is very biased. Northrop/EADS were to make the KC tankers in Mobile, Alabama - not primarily Europe......with 45,000 US jobs created as a result of the contract. When the contract was awarded to Northrop (the maker of the stealth bomber) over 65 foreign companies were planning to relocate to Alabama.

Moreover, Boeing asked permission to outsource much of its work, including importing materials from Russia.

There was no national security issue. If Northrop gets the contract, even EADS will move much non-military world wide freighter production to Alabama as well. Time to get the full story.

I was there too, because I'm in the band, and in the interest of preserving history, just wanted to point out that this account of events is accurate in every way accurate except two.
We were not releasing "Boyhood" That album is three years old. This was for our new one, "Scandal, scandal, scandal... down in the wheat field".
Also, it was not our drummer who was cited for open container. It was one of the opening band members. We were not bothered, except for the part where they shut us down.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm complaining. That's not my intention.
Thanks,
ZP

If McCain is this slippery and oily in Congress, one can only imagine what a McCain Presidency would be like. He is not a deep thinker, is not prone to self-analysis OR introspection, and loves to obscure and misstate the truth. Gee, who does that sound like? Maybe.....Bush? And no doubt that Palin is cast in Cheney's image: both love oil, are NRA members, love to hunt, have alleged foes outed, ousted and otherwise made unemployed (lest we forget the VP's role in the outing of Valerie Plame), and do as much as possible behind closed doors. The only difference between them is that when Cheney became Vice President, he had years of international and Federal Government experience. For almost 8 years, we've seen what happens when the pitbull VP Cheney advised a President, and one wonders how an untrained but made-up (both in terms of cosmetics AND as a piece of fiction) pitbull would advise a President.
